Good experience when needing to transport goods that you really want to know before hiring our shipping service.Take note when you need to use it.
Currently, the demand for goods transportation is increasing from road, sea and air transport. The experience below will definitely help you a lot when you need to transport.
1/ Choose a vehicle suitable for the volume of goods
For many transport customers who do not have experience moving goods, they often choose a truck that is too large compared to the volume and size of the goods to be transferred.
At this time, costs will increase when loading with a vehicle that is too wide, causing difficulty in loading, or in many cases, bulky goods in a vehicle that is too tight will spill out, violating traffic laws.
In many cases, these are containers and you need to rent a model without a container to make it easier to load and unload. It can be said that the demand for renting trucks in the city is quite large from individuals to businesses such as house moving, office moving, fair cleaning, agency delivery…
Therefore, to choose the right truck and package, calculate the exact amount of goods to be transferred and ask for advice from the service units to ensure everything goes as expected.
2/ Choose a transport unit near the loading and unloading area
In the provinces and cities, there are quite a few transport units, so choosing businesses with parking lots close to the loading area ensures quick vehicle dispatching and saves costs when service vehicles have to travel long roads. long to the loading area.
Besides, for large shipments from north to south or to the provinces, choosing a unit with representative offices and parking lots in these two areas is necessary to ensure all problems are handled quickly and neatly with Costs are minimized when shipping costs are only calculated for 1 round of loading, unloading and returning goods.
3/ Choose a service with an affordable price
It can be said that on the market many different transport units will offer different prices. You are wondering when you only carry 1 loading point and 1 return point but each unit offers a different price and you don’t know. Which unit do you trust?
You worry about whether the goods will be delivered on time, whether there will be a shortage, whether the goods will be safe or broken, chipped… this is a common concern of customers when using transportation services.
Therefore, choosing a reputable and trustworthy unit with professional services is necessary. In Hanoi, there are many units such as: Than Den, Kien Vang, 24h… With quality always considered good, you can feel completely secure when using the services of these units.
4/ What do you need to pay attention to when transporting goods by Container?
a/ Is container shipping suitable?
This question is a bit speculative, because you probably just hear it to know whether this form of transportation is suitable or not.
However, in some cases where there are many options, shippers do not know clearly which transportation option is most suitable for their needs. At that time, it is necessary to further analyze which shipments should be shipped by sea container. And as far as I know, they are usually…
Goods with a relatively large volume (for example, several dozen tons) can be packed in one or more containers and transported domestically by sea from Hai Phong port to Saigon port or vice versa.
On this route, goods mainly go back and forth between the two ports mentioned above. Very rarely do domestic container ships call at other ports such as Da Nang or Quy Nhon.
You should also note that on this route, we only transport full container cargo (FCL), not LCL cargo (LCL). If you want to run less volume, a few tons (cubic meters) of goods, choosing a North-South truck will be more suitable.
b/ Type of goods not suitable for transport by container
It can be said that the following items or shipments are not suitable for shipping by container ship. And the alternative form I will write along is as follows:
- Shipments of great value that need to be transported quickly, such as: jewelry, fresh flowers… In these cases, it is recommended to ship by air at a high cost but quickly and safely.
- Shipments with large volumes (about tens of thousands of tons or more): rice, ore, lime, fertilizer… This type is suitable for shipping by bulk cargo ship, with large and small sizes suitable for the shipment.
- Types of goods that need to be transported by specialized ships: crude oil, liquefied petroleum gas, cars… Of course, with small volumes, they can still be transported in specialized containers.
- And when your goods are really suitable, and you want to ship them by sea container? So what will be done?
c/ Transporting exported goods by container
Contact the shipping company to find a ship that fits the schedule. Most routes have trains running at a fixed frequency, at least weekly. And there are usually many shipping lines for you to choose from.
- Ask about shipping rates and related costs, then bargain (if appropriate). You should be aware of additional fees, as they can be much larger than the ocean freight.
- Sign a storage agreement. Inform the shipping company of necessary information such as cargo name, number of containers, departure port, destination port, expected ship trip… They will send you a Booking Note.
- Pack the goods into containers and transfer them to the port
- Carry out export customs procedures
- Carry out documentation procedures
For imported goods where you have to worry about shipping goods (corresponding to commercial terms such as CIF or DDU), the method is almost the same as the steps above.
However, then you should work with a forwarder company. They have sales staff for imported goods, while shipping line sales staff usually only focus on export goods
5/ Choose a freight shipping service
- First, you must determine the characteristics, size, and volume of the goods to be able to choose the appropriate container type and size.
- For example, if you need to transport agricultural and forestry products, you must choose a refrigerated container. How cold the temperature will be will depend on the goods you need to refrigerate.
- If your package is not too large, choose a 20-foot container to reduce costs
- The overall exterior of the container must be intact, not dented or mechanically deformed, with new, uniform paint.
- The container floor is dry, clean, and free of holes
- The ceiling and walls of the container are not punctured. You can check by closing the container door slightly and observing with the naked eye to see if any light enters the container. If there is a hole in the container, you must choose another container because seawater or rainwater can overflow through these holes, damaging the goods inside.
- Rubber clips at container doors must be intact and not damaged. These rubber braces play a role in protecting against rainwater, seawater, and dirt during transportation.
- If the rubber bands are damaged, the goods in the container may be water-logged and damaged during transportation
6/ Types of freight service fees
- Shipping fee: Based on the volume of goods and delivery location according to the fee table to calculate
- Collection fee: Incurred when the bill of lading collects money from the recipient, based on the published fee table
- Overweight fee: Arises when the bill of lading increases in weight compared to when the bill of lading was created (Seller pays)
- Insurance fee: Customers buy insurance, this fee is not added to the collection fee by default
- Refund fee: When the bill of lading is returned to the sender
7/ Goods prohibited from transportation
